Frequently Asked Questions
What is Swipe?
Swipe is a responsive web app that helps you create, present, and share presentations. Use any device with a modern browser, log in, drag and drop or choose files to upload, add web content, get a simple link to share to anyone in the world and start your live presentations from any device with a browser. Everyone that is on the URL will see your slides change as you swipe through them, in real-time no matter where they are.
How can I get Swipe?
You can sign up at Swipe.to for the beta, for free.
Is Swipe secure?
We've built Swipe with security in mind from the start, and we care about your content and privacy. If your presentations are set to "private", you can rest assured that no one will see them.
Is there an app?
No, we currently don't have anything you can download. Just go to www.swipe.to from any device, click "log in" and create, edit, or present your presentations. No apps, no installations, it just works.
What browsers does Swipe work in?
All modern browsers. We've tested it extensively in Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer 10, Mobile Safari, Chrome for iOS, Chrome for Android, and Internet Explorer on Windows phone. We recommend using one of the above-mentioned browsers. If you're using a different browser and are experiencing problems, please let us know by sending us an email. Our goal is to make it work on everything, so your feedback is important to us.
Does it work offline?
No, you need an Internet connection to use Swipe.
What is a deck?
A deck is a single presentation.
How many decks can I create?
As many as you wish, while we're in beta. No size limits, slide limits, or storage limits.
What kinds of files can I upload to Swipe?
See the full list here.
Is Swipe a replacement for my PowerPoint or Keynote?
We don't see it that way. You can't "create" slides in Swipe, so if you love using PowerPoint or Keynote, simply save as PDF and upload it to Swipe. We'll convert everything and make it accessible on any device and let you present it inside Swipe.
At the moment you can embed YouTube and Vimeo videos. We're working hard to add more cool web content types and we'll update this list as we add them.
Can anyone see my presentations?
If you set your presentations as "public", anyone with that URL can see the content. If you set it as "private" only you can see it if you are logged in. You can still present with a projector if it's private, assuming you are logged in.
Can anyone control my presentations?
No, only you have access to the "present" mode on your Swipe account for your presentations.
Can I delete my presentations?
Of course, it takes two clicks. Log in, find the presentation you want to delete, hit "edit" and you'll find the delete this "deck" option in the left sidebar.
Can I change the URL for a specific presentation?
At this moment you can't.
